2008 NCAA Basketball Fellowship

The last Life on Life of the semester was a gathering of about 40 athletes to watch "Facing the Giants". Fred Fuller, a former coach and friend of FCA, made chili for us. It was a great night for the students to take a break from final exam studying and be encouraged with a message of God's faithfulness. Pray these students, and all athletes and coaches from MC, listen to and obey the Lord during this Christmas break as we have shared the gospel with them this semester.

For the last huddle meeting of the semester we invited David Horner, former MC basketball player and current Jackson Prep Basketball Coach, to speak to our athletes and coaches. We had about 45 in attendance and they got the night started by playing several rounds of "knockout", a basketball shooting competition. Afterwards Justin Culpepper lead us in worship songs. Just a side note...Justin will be graduating this December and how we have been blessed to have his leadership in our music ministry. He has grown tremendously in Christ and it's been reflected in the way he leads us to the throne of God through music and praise. David Horner wrapped up the night sharing about his experiences through high school and college where he has seen the faithfulness of God. For our last huddle meeting of the year, FCA hosted Brian Culpepper and family as our guests. Brian is the father of Justin Culpepper, one of the MC leaders. Justin, Brian, and Caleb (Justin's brother) led us in worship. Then Brian spoke to us from John 3 about being Holy. God spoke clearly to students as some were even in tears as they contemplated upcoming decisions and worked through various issues in their lives. It was a great way to end the school year and gave us momentum heading into the summer and upcoming fall semester. Thank you for praying for our huddle. Please continue!
