Tommy McBride, football player at MC, visited the FCA Huddle at Mt. Salus to share his testimony. Tommy, along with his brother Jimmy and father Jim, played key roles in the recent movie "Facing the Giants", now out on DVD. Tommy showed a clip from the movie about "wholeheartedness" and talked about the importance of serving the Lord with all your heart. Some junior high students talked with Tommy afterwards and got their picture with him too. (see below)
Mary Kathryn Govero, a basketball standout at Mt. Salus Christian, has been featured in Sports Illustrated as this week's "Primetime Performer". Click on the link below to read how Mary Kathryn's faith in Christ, and not basketball, is the source of her life.

Nov. 17, 2006
The Mt. Salus FCA Huddle met last on Friday, Nov. 17th, before school at 7:30am. Donuts are always a fixture to attract students in the early hours of the day. Special guest speaker was Thomas Gray, a Junior at MC and current Boys Basketball coach at Rebul Academy. Just the night before Rebul and Mt. Salus tipped off on the court, so it was unique for Thomas to have this opportunity the next morning to share with the opposing team. The Lord spoke powerfully and direct to students and coaches as Thomas shared about playing sports and living life for the glory of God. Using a story about former Wake Forest player Chris Paul, who scored 61 points (the age of his grandfather when he was murdered just days earlier) in honor of his grandfather, Thomas related our goal to please God, our Heavenly Father, with all our hearts.
