2008 FCA Wild Game Lunch (Jackson, MS)
The 2008 FCA Wild Game Lunch at First Baptist Church in Jackson, MS was a great event. This year 40 people, including athletes, coaches, board members, and parents, shared brief testimonies with the crowd as they ate lunch prior to the program. It's always amazing to watch people stop and listen to those testimonies not paying attention to their food! Afterwards, Christian Steckel (son of FCA President Les Steckel and WAPT Sports Director) hosted a panel consisting of Rick Comegy (JSU Head FB Coach), Houston Nutt (Ole Miss Head FB Coach), Larry Fedora (USM Head FB Coach), and Larry Templeton (MSU Athletic Director). Christian pursued answers to questions from this panel about life, sport, and faith in Christ. We had a huge turnout and God blessed our ministry with financial support for us to continue serving Him and sharing His gospel through sports. Thanks to all of you who prayed and attended and gave!

| My wife Bethany and I were truly blessed during our time in Kansas City. I attended Leadership Board School and she was engaged in Stewardship School. The training from home office staff, board members, and others who partner with FCA, was phenomenal. It was not the first time we have heard these things, but after multiple meetings like this, we have finally grasped these concepts. We have a gameplan for forming a Leadership Board and implementing our stewarship strategy. The encouragement we received from other staff who walk in ours shoes makes a huge impact in us as staff and even more as people and children of God.
One of the biggest highlights for us though was the opportunity we had to engage with those who serve through IHOP, International House of Prayer. Luis Cataldo was the staff leader of the IHOP group which met with us every morning for prayer, praise, and time in the Word. They would listen to us share our requests and praises and then spend time interceeding for us on those things while we went back to training. At lunch we could join them for more prayer. At night they took groups of us to the IHOP Mission Base in Kansas City to experience the Lord in an atmosphere of continual praise, worship, prayer, and fellowship.
Bethany was feeling ill during part of this trip, and we both felt that it was more than physical illness, but spiritual attack as well. So Luis and a few others from IHOP spent time praying for Bethany and I the last morning in KC. I can't describe the amazing things God spoke to us that morning, but it was an intimate time with Him. I felt so close to the Lord as if He was embracing me with His arms and speaking over me so that I could feel His breath. He knows exactly what we need and when we need it. I left from there with value, purpose, and faith from God that He poured out in abundance to me. Bethany and I were renewed inwardly and outwardly in Christ. We have never been more on track with God's purpose in our lives, and we are more in love with Christ and each other than ever before. We are grateful to IHOP and FCA and most importantly the Lord Jesus for our time in Kansas City.
